Appley Bridge, Parbold, Dalton & Poulton Guides – July 2014

I just wanted to say a BIG BIG thank you, for all the assistance and hospitality you showed us before, during and after our camp at Silver Sapling 26th – 30th July 2014 from the four Guide Units, 2nd Appley Bridge, 1st Parbold and Dalton, 2nd Parbold and Dalton and 1st St Michael’s, Poulton.

We all had a brilliant time and the weather was mainly kind to us. As I was completing my camp licience on a large camp, I was especially apprehensive as we had not camped at Silver Sapling before, but the facitlities were perfect for our needs. The hut with plumbed toilets and showers were a godsend (especailly to the Leaders), the location was perfect as it offered something for everyone. We were ‘out of sight’ from the road, we had a private field which made it safe and secure for us.

We planned in so many activities; a night hike to the Pepperpot; we had a day trip to Lancaster and a swim at Salt Ayre pool; we walked approx 6 miles round trip to Jenny Brown’s point and we had a plastic sheet slide (a long pice of plastic and fairy liquid) which the girls had a fantastic afternoon sliding about on. The best of all was our Campfires at night and your campfire area, up on the hill is a fantastic spot to sing your heart out.

My two girls (Guides) haven’t stopped singing camp songs since they have been home! It’s a truly great site and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

We can’t wait to see what you have instore for us in May 2015! WE WILL CERTAINLY BE BACK!

Thanks again.

Lunesdale Young Leaders Camp – July 2011

What a beautiful campsite you have – peace, tranquility and beautiful scenery!

The young leaders particulary enjoyed the campfire circle, grass sledging and go-karts; the cakes at RSPB Leighton Moss went down a treat with us older ones too. How lucky you are to have their tearoom on your doorstep!

We have fallen in love with your little gem of a campsite. We can’t wait to return… for more cake!
